A radar-confirmed object and a voice received in trance may both be unexplained. That does not mean they come from the same source.<\/p>\n

A military pilot sees an object maneuver in restricted airspace. Another crew sees it too. Radar records something in the same place, and an infrared system captures part of the encounter.<\/p>\n

Somewhere else, a person closes his eyes, enters a meditative state, announces his desire for contact, and invites an unknown intelligence to make itself known. A light appears. A message follows. Soon the intelligence has a name, a mission, and a teaching for humanity.<\/p>\n

The UAP community often places both events in the same category. One is treated as evidence for the other. The object tracked by sensors becomes support for the voice heard during meditation, while the voice supplies an explanation for the object.<\/p>\n

I think that is a serious mistake.<\/p>\n

This article states my present opinion, not a conclusion I can currently prove. I believe the entities associated with legitimate UAP may be entirely different from the intelligences encountered through CE5, channeling, mediumship, remote viewing, out-of-body experiences, spirit guides, and many abduction accounts. The first may be extraterrestrial, interdimensional, something else we have not identified, or more than one of those. I do not know. The second group looks much older to me. Strip away the space-age vocabulary and much of it is old-school occultism.<\/p>\n

What I mean by legitimate UAP<\/h2>\n

The word legitimate needs careful handling. I do not mean that every unexplained light is an alien craft. I mean a case in which the ordinary explanations have been investigated and something genuinely remains unexplained. The stronger cases involve independent witnesses, radar, infrared, photographs with usable provenance, physical effects, or several forms of evidence that agree.<\/p>\n

Such a case may establish that a real object or event has not been identified. It does not establish where it came from, whether it carried occupants, or what those occupants might be. Unknown is a finding, not an origin story.<\/p>\n

I remain open to the possibility that some UAP are physical craft operated by extraterrestrial beings. I am also open to an interdimensional explanation, although that word is used so loosely that it can conceal more than it explains. There may be several causes inside the UAP category. Some cases will turn out to be misidentifications, classified technology, sensor artifacts, natural phenomena, or fraud. A smaller residue may represent something genuinely new.<\/p>\n

Whatever that residue is, I see no sound reason to assume it is the same thing that speaks through a channeler or answers an invitation made during CE5.<\/p>\n

A light tracked on radar and a voice speaking through a person in trance may both be strange. Strangeness is not a shared identity.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

The two claims require different methods of investigation. A physical observation calls for records, measurements, corroboration, technical analysis, and counterintelligence. A communicating intelligence raises another set of questions. Who is speaking? How was contact initiated? What does it want? Why should anyone believe the identity it claims?<\/p>\n

The UAP community often moves past those questions too quickly.<\/p>\n

Old practices with new names<\/h2>\n

CE5 is a good example. Steven Greer popularized the term through the Center for the Study of Extraterrestrial Intelligence, or CSETI, which he founded in 1990. It refers to deliberate, human-initiated contact with an alleged nonhuman intelligence. The language sounds modern. The method is not. Greer has said his background includes training in Transcendental Meditation, and the CE5 method uses meditation, focused intention, and an invitation to an unknown presence. Participants wait for a response and interpret unusual events as confirmation that contact has begun.<\/p>\n

In any other setting, Christians would recognize the basic structure as an invocation. Calling it a contact protocol does not change what the participant is doing. The person is deliberately opening communication with an unseen intelligence whose identity cannot be independently checked.<\/p>\n

Channeling makes the connection even clearer. A person quiets or surrenders part of his normal mental control so that another intelligence can supply words, images, or speech. The intelligence may call itself an extraterrestrial, a collective, an ascended master, a higher-density being, or a future version of humanity. Structurally, this is the same act found in older trance mediumship. The claimed visitor has changed. The human being is still serving as the conduit.<\/p>\n

Mediumship does not become safer when it enters the UAP world. The voice may claim to be a dead relative in one room and a Pleiadian teacher in another. Neither identity has been established merely because something answers. A spirit guide presents the same problem in a more personal form. It offers companionship, insight, warnings, and a sense of being chosen. Over time, advice can become direction, and direction can become authority.<\/p>\n

Remote viewing is usually presented as a disciplined consciousness technique rather than spirit contact. That description does not settle the spiritual question. When a person deliberately seeks hidden information through extrasensory means, the practice occupies the same territory that older cultures called clairvoyance or divination. The U.S. government’s Stargate program placed remote viewing inside military and intelligence work before the program ended in 1995. A government sponsor, laboratory vocabulary, or statistical protocol may change how the activity is studied. It does not automatically make the underlying act spiritually neutral.<\/p>\n

Out-of-body experience has a similar history. When pursued deliberately, it closely resembles what occult literature has long called astral projection. The UAP community may frame it as consciousness leaving the body to visit craft, distant locations, or nonphysical beings. Again, a scientific-sounding description is not proof of a scientific mechanism. The method still involves an altered state, a claimed separation from the body, and contact with places or intelligences that cannot be verified in the normal way.<\/p>\n

These practices are often grouped under “consciousness,” as if that word answered the question. It does not. Consciousness is the location of the experience, or perhaps the instrument used to seek it. It tells us nothing about the character of whatever answers.<\/p>\n

The abduction question is harder<\/h2>\n

Abduction reports deserve separate treatment because an abduction is not normally a chosen practice. People often describe frightening, intrusive experiences they did not seek. I do not want to blame them for what happened or dismiss them as foolish. Some accounts include missing time, unusual marks, physical implants, corroborating witnesses, or memories that feel more real than ordinary memory. Other cases occur near sleep and include paralysis, a sensed presence, sexual or reproductive violation, telepathic communication, or images later developed under hypnosis.<\/p>\n

Ordinary explanations have to be considered first. Sleep paralysis, trauma, suggestibility, false memory, medical conditions, cultural expectation, and fraud can explain some reports. Hypnotic regression is especially capable of turning fragments and suggestions into confident narratives. None of that means every experiencer is lying or mentally ill.<\/p>\n

When the ordinary explanations do not seem sufficient, I still do not think we should leap from “something happened” to “visitors arrived in a spacecraft.” Many abduction accounts resemble older reports of night visitors, oppressive presences, sexual assault by spirits, paralysis, deception, and terror. The imagery is modern, but the experience has historical relatives that long predate flying saucers.<\/p>\n

My conjecture is that many abduction entities belong with that older spiritual category, not with whatever may be responsible for the strongest physically documented UAP cases. That does not explain every report. It does mean the shape of an entity, the room it appears in, or the story it tells about its planet should not be accepted as identification.<\/p>\n

The address keeps moving<\/h2>\n

The history I trace in my forthcoming book, Games Demons Play<\/em>, makes me even more skeptical of the identities claimed during contact.<\/p>\n

In the eighteenth century, Emanuel Swedenborg wrote about spirits from Mercury, Venus, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, and the Moon. In the nineteenth century, the medium H\u00e9l\u00e8ne Smith described visits to Mars and produced a supposed Martian language. During the 1950s, George Adamski’s visitor came from Venus, while other contact movements received messages from beings associated with Venus and Mars.<\/p>\n

Then planetary science caught up. Venus was not a home for radiant space brothers. Mars did not contain the civilization imagined by an earlier public. The alleged visitors did not stop communicating. Their addresses moved. They came from distant star systems, the Pleiades, other densities, higher frequencies, or dimensions no instrument could reach.<\/p>\n

The theological content proved more durable than the astronomy. Humanity is evolving toward a higher state. Traditional Christianity has misunderstood Jesus. Sin is ignorance or illusion. All religions contain pieces of one hidden truth. A coming transformation will divide those who awaken from those who do not.<\/p>\n

This looks less like a succession of visitors from newly discovered places and more like a spiritual intelligence changing its costume to match the expectations of its audience. The space vocabulary is current. The religious message is not.<\/p>\n

Hidden knowledge buys trust<\/h2>\n

The most persuasive contact experiences do not begin with a long lecture about cosmic evolution. They begin with proof.<\/p>\n

An intelligence knows a private detail. It describes a distant place. It names something from the participant’s past. It produces an accurate impression during remote viewing or tells a medium something no stranger should know. The information may be specific enough to defeat coincidence and too obscure to explain easily by ordinary research.<\/p>\n

That moment can be powerful. It also creates a dangerous shortcut in reasoning. If the information is true, the source must be who it claims to be. If it knows the hidden fact, it must be wise. If it has unusual access, its spiritual teaching must deserve trust.<\/p>\n

None of those conclusions follows.<\/p>\n

Hidden knowledge proves access, not goodness. It may show that an intelligence can observe something we cannot, reach information beyond our normal senses, or exploit knowledge gathered over time. It does not prove moral character. It does not prove the claimed identity. It does not make the source an authority on God, salvation, the purpose of humanity, or the future.<\/p>\n

The short version is simple. A true fact can function as the first payment in a confidence scheme. Once the source has earned trust with information it should not possess, it can introduce claims that cannot be checked. Reach becomes credibility. Credibility becomes authority. By the time the message turns theological, the identity question has already been forgotten.<\/p>\n

My view, stated with its limits<\/h2>\n

I am not arguing that every unusual event is demonic. I am not arguing that every UAP is a spirit, or that every person reporting contact is dishonest. I am not claiming to know what the best UAP cases represent.<\/p>\n

I am making a narrower distinction and a stronger conjecture.<\/p>\n

The narrow distinction is evidentiary. A physically observed UAP and a message received through an altered state are not the same kind of claim and should not be combined to make either one seem stronger.<\/p>\n

The conjecture is that they may not share a source at all. My current view is that legitimate UAP may involve extraterrestrial or interdimensional beings, while the intelligences reached through the occult doorways described above, along with many of the entities reported in abduction experiences, are deceptive spiritual beings. In Christian language, I believe the latter category is demonic.<\/p>\n

I could be wrong about the first category. I may also be drawing the boundary too neatly. Different phenomena can overlap, and deceptive beings could exploit genuine UAP events for their own purposes. But “all of it is the same phenomenon” is also a conjecture, and I think it explains less than it appears to.<\/p>\n

Separating the categories gives us better questions. What was actually observed? What evidence exists outside the experiencer? Was contact sought through an altered state or invitation? Did the intelligence prove its identity, or merely announce it? Did hidden knowledge create trust that the message itself never earned? Does the teaching clarify truth, or does it steadily detach the person from Christ while flattering him as awakened, chosen, or advanced?<\/p>\n

Those questions do not solve the UAP mystery. They do prevent one mystery from being used to disguise another.<\/p>\n
